About Us
Proudly South Australian Owned
Operating for more than 70 years in Adelaide, South Australia, we are leaders in the manufacture of metal castings for domestic, commercial and government sectors. Our work portfolio spans a diverse range of areas including agriculture, engineering, hobby, irrigation, marine, mining, restoration and visual arts.
Over the years we have retained the term ‘brass’ as part of our name in reference to our beginnings in 1950. Today, our South Australian owned and operated foundry specialises in casting simple to complex designs in other metals and alloys, such as aluminium, iron and bronze.

What We Offer
Pattern Making
Bespoke Handcrafted Designs
We turn your vision into reality by starting with a drawing of the metal casting you want, which you can supply or collaborate on with us. Our talented pattern-maker then transforms this drawing into a wooden replica, known as a 'pattern'.
Whether submitting a hand-sketched or digitally generated drawing of your casting, or designing one with us, we work with you to ensure you're satisfied with it before making your pattern.
Our most popular metal casting requests include:
-
Pumps and valve bodies, and some of their components, such as discharge cases, propellers and impellers.
-
Branding irons for leather, livestock and wood.
-
Plaques for graves, memorials, buildings, gardens and historic sites.
Sand Casting
Versatile & Reliable Processes
At Adelaide Brass Castings, we produce metal castings using a process called 'sand casting'.
Sand casting involves placing a wooden replica ('pattern') of your metal casting design into a sand-filled box to create a mold of it. We perform the molding process with a high level of precision and skill so your pattern is accurately reproduced.
Once your sand mold is complete, we melt your chosen metal in our furnace. Next, we pour this molten metal into your mold where it cools and solidifies. Later, we break away the sand and remove your metal casting.
Premium Materials
